Shipping Policy

Shipping Methods and Pricing

Genetic Direction will only accept domestic orders (shipping within the United States). Standard shipping is via USPS. We do not offer one-day or overnight shipping options or expedited shipping inbound to the lab at this time. For orders that include more than a single kit, additional shipping costs are discounted. Your shopping cart will indicate the shipping charges associated with each of these shipping methods. All kits in a single order will be shipped to the indicated shipping address. The swab kit you receive will have pre-paid shipping postage already attached so once you collect the sample and drop it in the USPS, the sample will be shipped to our contracted laboratory.

How are shipping costs calculated?

The shipping cost for each collection kit includes shipping to the recipient and guaranteed return shipping to the laboratory.

Can I add multiple shipping addresses to one order?

Orders are shipped to a single address that you enter during the purchase process. While this address can be different from your order billing address, we cannot currently accommodate multiple shipping addresses in a single order. To ship to different addresses, you need to place individual orders.

When can I expect to receive my kit?

Genetic Direction typically ships orders within 1-2 business days. You will receive an email at the address associated with your order as soon as your order ships. If you have not received this email, your order has not yet shipped. The kit is typically received within 5-8 business days.

How do I track my shipment?

The shipping notification email will include a tracking number that will allow you to track your package.

Returning your sample to the lab via USPS

Your kit will come shrink-wrapped with the prepaid shipping label affixed on the underside of the box. As indicated in the kit instructions, make sure you have completed the registration process and sealed the swab kit prior to packaging your sample for shipment. Your saliva sample is stable at a wide range of temperatures once it is mixed with the DNA stabilization buffer liquid, but we recommend that you ship your collected sample to the laboratory at your earliest convenience.
