    There are so many health and fitness apps out there that it can be hard to know where to start when trying to learn how to lose weight fast. Lucky for you, George DiGianni and the Train Station Fitness Show have figured out which ones are best for helping you workout, eat healthy food, and create healthy habits in order to lose weight.

    We’re going to discuss apps of two sorts today. The first is the tracking apps, and the second is coaching apps. It’s definitely most helpful to use both in conjunction, so that you can both create and track your new healthy habits and learn how to lose weight fast!

    So, to begin, let’s talk about the best healthy food and exercise tracking apps. MyFitnessPal is great because it tracks food intake and exercise accomplished. In regards to healthy food, it allows others to see your diary if you want, which can be good for accountability with either a friend or health professional. If you’re working with a personal health professional, like you would be with GxSlim by Genetic Direction, this is ideal for making sure that your coach can hold you accountable to your goals! MyFitnessPal also has a spot for exercise input for either cardio or strength training and tracks approximate calories burned while you lose weight.     If you want further accountability while you’re actually shopping and trying to lose weight, Fooducate is also a great app. Use this app to scan bar codes of foods that you’re about to buy or that you have sitting around in your pantry, and this app will give you a quick nutritional rundown as well as a really useful additional information, like a health grade for your healthy food and other important details such as “Serving size is unusually small” in order to help you lose weight fast. If your genes tell you that you need to eat more of specific vitamins and nutrients, Fooducate will help you keep track!

    Next, let’s talk about RunTracker. This app tracks your running, walking, or biking distance via gps. It also gives updates for distance, time and average speed every 5 minutes, and provides you with a summary at end of workout to show you your progress as you lose weight. If your genes respond well to cardio for weight loss, this is a great app for you! This app gives you the option to share which is good for accountability if you have a coach like we mentioned previously. It also sends email reminders to workout, which will keep you to your schedule while you lose weight fast!

    Now lets look at some apps that actually coach you and give you suggestions for what to eat or how to workout. Nike+ Training Club is a really incredible free product that has more than 100 workouts available for you to choose from, as well as customized full-body four-week plans that are tailored to your needs. A trainer leads you through the routines, plus you get instructional video clips of the moves. You can tailor your workouts depending on your GxSlim workout plan. If you need to do more strength training or more cardio, you can choose the workouts that work best for you. It’s like hiring a free personal trainer who lives in your phone and is dedicated to helping you learn how to lose weight fast!

    For apps that help modify your eating habits to make sure you’re eating healthy food, let’s turn to BigOven. This database of healthy recipes allows you to plug in as many as three ingredients and the app will generate delicious recipes from its database of more than 500,000. Say your genetic profile says you need to eat more folate, you could plug “spinach” into the app and see what healthy recipes are available to you. You can also browse the database on your own to find recipes you want to make to lose weight. A final coaching app is My Healthy Habits. This app lets you plug in your goal, whether it is to eat more fruits and veggies or to drink more water and then it monitors your progress in 21-day increments by sending you reminders, messages, and tips to help you stay on track!
