Mark Sarzynski, Ph.D. – Director, Genomics Research
Dr. Mark Sarzynski leads the genetics research efforts within Genetic Direction by reviewing and analyzing published research associated with the relationship between genomics and preventive health (weight management, healthy aging, etc.). Dr. Sarzynski has focused his career on genomics studies, and his current research employs an integrated genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic approach to identify and characterize the biological factors associated with the response of lipids and lipoproteins to behavioral interventions, particularly high density lipoprotein (HDL) particles and related traits. The goal is to better predict which individuals are most likely to benefit from lifestyle therapies in the management of dyslipidemias and the overall lipid profile.
Dr. Sarzynski has a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Exercise Physiology and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Physiology from Michigan State University.
